Who We Are
Uganda Inkosizwile Methodist Initiative (UgIMI), founded in 2007, is a Christian charity voluntary association working to overcome poverty and to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities. We are affiliated to the Methodist Church of SA, Durban Circuit 712, but we have a universitas personarum legal status. We are registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (Republic of South Africa) as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO – 057888), and we have applied for registration with the South African Revenue Services for income-tax exemption and to issue Section 18A Tax certificates to all our donors.
